_81553010_topgear1_624bbc400Jeremy Clarkson, host of the popular TV show Top Gear, allegedly assaulted a producer last week, leading to his own suspension from the BBC. The show’s final three episodes this season will not be broadcast.

The BBC commented on the situation in a press release, “Following a fracas with a BBC producer, Jeremy Clarkson has been suspended pending an investigation. No one else has been suspended. Top Gear will not be broadcast this Sunday. The BBC will be making no further comment at this time.” The BBC did not provide the identity of the producer in question.

Clarkson recently admitted having gone through a difficult time during the filming of the show, landing himself in sticky situations including being “chased” out of Argentina by angry protesters and being caught on camera using the n-word. He has also been criticized by mental health activists after claiming that suicidal people are “selfish.”
