Breaking Bad Producer to Tackle Wall Street Criminals

Peter Gould, the creator of “Better Call Saul,” the much-beloved spinoff to “Breaking Bad” (for which he was a writer and producer), has announced plans for his first film, a Wall Street conspiracy tale.

Gould has teamed up with HBO, and is currently developing a film based on the non-fiction book “Octopus: Sam Israel, the Secret Market and Wall Street’s Wildest Con,” by Guy Lawson.

The book follows the true-life story of Sam Israel, a hedge fund broker who commits fraud on a grand scale, claims to have been aided by the US government, and then escapes imprisonment, hiding out in a Massachusetts campground.

Gould has previously written award-winning films dealing with Wall Street corporate crime, including 2011’s “Too Big to Fail.”
