The world’s first solar-powered plane, attempting to make the first fully solar-powered flight around the world, has set out on its way! After years of planning, the Solar Impulse 2 plane took off from the Al Bateen Executive Airport in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, on March 9th. The aircraft, carrying 17,000 solar panels on its wings, can cruise at speeds around 88mph, which means that its round-the-world voyage should take approximately five months. Good luck!
